Podman

podman is currently usable and allows you to run containers from the docker hub (and that of Nantes Université).

Using podman requires special rights, which currently must be granted manually by administrators. Contact us.

If your software is easily runnable with Apptainer, you’ll have a much better experience with it than with Podman.

small technical adjustments are still necessary to achieve satisfactory performance. Currently input/output may be poor (as of 03/24/23).

For example, you can use the following command to run an AlmaLinux 8 container with Podman.

podman run -it docker://almalinux:8
