Remember

Your account, you’ll protect

Would you give your house key to anyone? Never share your GLiCID account with anyone else, even if you’ve authorized them. We did not.

Backups, you’ll do

Data on GLiCID is NOT backed up. You should regularly back up your important data on a medium other than GLiCID.

Regular cleanups, you’ll do

Storage, while substantial, is not infinite. When you’re done using files, delete them. The excuse "I may need them one day" is not valid on GLiCID.

Documentation, you’ll read

When you encounter a problem, first read the documentation in detail. The information may already be there. And don’t forget to visit the forum and get involved !

Google, you’ll ask

Your GLiCID administrators, though quasi-divine, are not omniscient. Remember to search for your problem before opening a ticket. We often do this to get back to you.

Login nodes, you’ll cherish

Please, do NOT run anything other than basic user tasks on the login node.

E-mails, you’ll read

Who hasn’t dreamed of repeating the same thing 100 times because the other person didn’t read your message? E-mails are a way for us to disseminate essential information quickly.

Comprehensive tickets, you’ll create

If you haven’t been able to find an answer to your problem, open a ticket and remember to include any contextual information that might be useful to us : Date and time, software used, job IDs, etc.

Resources, you’ll share

GLiCID is a space shared by many users from many different backgrounds. If you thought you could take all the hearts in the cluster with impunity, other users will quickly bring you back to reality !

Administrators, you’ll respect

We may love transistors and penguins, but we’re still human beings.
